Soap Box

My soapbox, or blog for those who are too young to know what a soapbox is
and/or what it was used for. Here I express my opinions for all to see and
criticize. For those of you that are easily offended, I apologize for
nothing, it is my personal opinion that those easily offended, are so
offended because they have not put enough thought into their own beliefs and
opinions, and when they read something that causes them to second guess what
they think they believe, they get upset. Sarcasm, something I love to use a
lot, is in italics.

| Liberals
and Taxes |

Taxes, now that the liberals are in control of Congress, there has been a
lot of talk about them raising our taxes. They try to claim that they don't
want to raise taxes except that they will raise them on the rich. Well, I
have news for you, unless you are on welfare in this country, you are
considered rich. They will, without a doubt, pass legislation that will
raise our taxes and I fear that President Bush may in fact sign it although
I have to admit I'm not sure what he will do.I listen to Rush Limbaugh
and Sean Hannity to name a few, big surprise I know, and I hear them spit
out facts about how revenue to the federal government has increased due to
the tax cuts implemented by the Republicans, and how much better the economy
is doing and they are correct. God, it must suck to be a liberal and see
such proof that tax cuts work. anyway, they are banging their heads against
the wall trying to figure out why the libs still want to raise taxes. I know
why. Taxes have a lot to do with money, but they have more to do with power.
The higher the taxes, the greater their power over the people. Think about
it, if you were forced to give me a percentage of your paycheck so that I
could spend it for you, I would have power over you, the more of your money
I could get, the more power I would have. The amount of your money
wouldn't be as important as the percentage of your money that I
controlled. They want to raise the percentage of taxes on the people, even
if that means a lower amount of revenue is collected.

I haven't had a blog going for several months now and it kinda bugs me
because there are so many times that I need to vent something and this is
always a good outlet. I suppose that the event that really prompted me to
start typing again was John F. Kerry's comments belittling our troops
fighting in Iraq. Now these comments alone didn't prompt me to start again,
but it was the straw that broke the camel's back.John F. Kerry, a Vietnam
war veteran and failed Presidential candidate, said Monday "...education, if
you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make
an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in
Iraq."
Now, taking into consideration that he has never said anything bad
about the U.S. armed forces before, I think we should all believe him when
he claims it was a botched joke.
